This was my third homily, but it was my first impromptu homily where I only had less than 20 minutes to prepare.
The priest asked me if I would be interested in giving it on the spot. I said yes and told him that I needed to develop the skill of an impromptu homily.
I'm sure there will be many more times where I have little time to prepare and not use notes.
